General Meetings

Falmouth Newcomers holds its general meeting on the second Thursday of the month. Most meetings take place at the First Congregational Church, 68 Main St., Falmouth. Many include speakers and other guests with a local connection, to both educate and entertain. (E) denotes evening meeting.

Judy Handley presented the Voyage of Windbird, her six-year circumnavigation with her husband Mark aboard their 42 foot Tayana sailboat, Windbird. This is a continuation of her presentation from January 2017.

In October 2005 they sailed out of Boston Harbor. Six years later, they sailed into Woods Hole having logged almost 39,000 miles.

This month we welcomed Dr. Aaron Nelson, Former Chair of the Neuropsychology Department at Brigham and Women's Hospital, who spoke about memory, cognition and how best to retain our capabilities. Dr. Nelson had autographed copies of his book, Achieving Optimal Memory, available.
